Description

Soft and fluffy homemade dinner rolls perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F/43°C)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (plus more for brushing)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Nonstick cooking spray or extra flour, for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir to combine.
  3. Gradually mix in the flour until a soft dough forms. Knead on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and shape into balls. Place in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  5. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let rise in a warm place for 20 minutes or until puffy.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown. Brush warm rolls with additional melted butter before serving.

Notes

  • For a softer crust, cover the rolls with a kitchen towel while they cool.
  • These rolls can be frozen after baking; reheat in the oven when ready to serve.
