- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F/43°C)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted (plus more for brushing)
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp salt
- Nonstick cooking spray or extra flour, for dusting
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir to combine.
- Gradually mix in the flour until a soft dough forms. Knead on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and shape into balls. Place in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let rise in a warm place for 20 minutes or until puffy.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown. Brush warm rolls with additional melted butter before serving.
Notes
- For a softer crust, cover the rolls with a kitchen towel while they cool.
- These rolls can be frozen after baking; reheat in the oven when ready to serve.
