Description

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • 4 cups reduced-sodium beef broth or chicken broth
  • 14 ounce can diced Italian tomatoes
  • 1 cup milk
  • 16 ounces dry macaroni noodles
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 4 cups shredded Cheddar-Jack cheese

Instructions

  1. Add ground beef to a large skillet over medium heat. Cook, stirring regularly, until the ground beef is no longer pink.
  2. Stir in the onion, and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until softened.
  3. Add broth, tomatoes, milk, pasta, and black pepper.
  4. Bring to a boil.
  5. Once at a boil, lower the heat to medium-low.
  6. Cover and cook for 15 minutes, or until the pasta is al dente, stirring occasionally.
  7. Remove from heat.
  8. Add the cheese, and stir until melted and combined.
  9. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.
