Description
A creamy and festive dessert combining the flavors of eggnog with a smooth panna cotta.
Ingredients

- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cups eggnog
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoons unflavored gelatin
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Whipped cream for topping (optional)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, pour the cold water and sprinkle the gelatin evenly over it. Let sit for 5–10 minutes to bloom.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, eggnog, and sugar. Heat over medium, stirring until hot and the sugar is dissolved. Do not boil.
- Remove from heat and add the bloomed gelatin. Stir until completely dissolved.
- Stir in vanilla extract and nutmeg. Taste and adjust seasoning if desired.
- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl or measuring cup.
- Divide evenly into ramekins or molds.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.
- To serve, unmold if desired and top with whipped cream and extra nutmeg.
Notes
- Serve chilled for the best texture.
- Can be garnished with a sprinkle of nutmeg or cinnamon.
