Description

A creamy and festive dessert combining the flavors of eggnog with a smooth panna cotta.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups eggnog
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons unflavored gelatin
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Whipped cream for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, pour the cold water and sprinkle the gelatin evenly over it. Let sit for 5–10 minutes to bloom.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, eggnog, and sugar. Heat over medium, stirring until hot and the sugar is dissolved. Do not boil.
  3. Remove from heat and add the bloomed gelatin. Stir until completely dissolved.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract and nutmeg. Taste and adjust seasoning if desired.
  5. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl or measuring cup.
  6. Divide evenly into ramekins or molds.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.
  8. To serve, unmold if desired and top with whipped cream and extra nutmeg.
