Ingredients

  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, stirring frequently.
  3. Sprinkle in the flour and whisk continuously for about 1 minute to form a smooth roux.
  4. Slowly pour in the heavy cream while whisking, then bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  5. Add the Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth and thickened, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in fresh parsley if using.
  7. Serve immediately over pasta, chicken, or vegetables.

Notes

  • This sauce can be adjusted for thicker consistency by increasing the flour.
  • For a lighter version, replace heavy cream with half-and-half.
