Description
A rich and creamy garlic Parmesan sauce that’s perfect for pasta, chicken, or vegetables.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, stirring frequently.
- Sprinkle in the flour and whisk continuously for about 1 minute to form a smooth roux.
- Slowly pour in the heavy cream while whisking, then bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
- Add the Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth and thickened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in fresh parsley if using.
- Serve immediately over pasta, chicken, or vegetables.
Notes
- This sauce can be adjusted for thicker consistency by increasing the flour.
- For a lighter version, replace heavy cream with half-and-half.
