Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed (Ensure bananas are very ripe for best flavor.)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (Enhances the flavor.)
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips (optional) (Add for extra crunch or flavor.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Mix in the mashed bananas until well combined.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture into the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  7. Fold in optional ingredients like walnuts or chocolate chips if desired.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake in your preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Once baked, allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
  11. Once completely cooled, slice and enjoy!
