- 3 cups Rice or Corn Chex cereal
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon butter (optional)
- 1/2 cup red velvet cake mix (heat-treated)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Line a large baking sheet with parchment or wax paper and set aside.
- Heat-treat the red velvet cake mix by microwaving it in a bowl for 30-second intervals, stirring each time, until it reaches 165°F. Let it cool.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine white chocolate chips and butter (if using), and microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring frequently, until smooth and fully melted.
- Add Chex cereal to a large mixing bowl. Pour the melted white chocolate over it and gently mix to coat all pieces evenly.
- Sprinkle the cooled red velvet cake mix over the coated cereal and stir gently until fully covered.
- Transfer the coated cereal to a large zip-top bag, add powdered sugar, seal, and shake until well coated.
- Spread the mixture in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet and let it cool and set completely before serving or storing.
