Description

These crispy baked chicken wings are the perfect appetizer or party food!


Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken wings
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder (not baking soda)
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Optional: pinch of chili flakes or cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. First, preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or foil and grease it lightly.
  2. Pat the chicken wings super dry with paper towels to ensure maximum crispiness.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the wings with baking powder, salt, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper, ensuring all pieces are coated evenly. Add the oil and toss again.
  4. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the prepared tray, avoiding crowding. Bake on the middle rack.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes, then flip each wing. Bake for another 15–20 minutes until golden and crispy.
  6. Let them stand a few minutes before serving, as they will be very hot.
  7. If desired, toss the cooked wings with more salt, a splash of hot sauce, or enjoy as they are.
