Ingredients
Scale
- 1 kg chicken wings
- 1 tablespoon baking powder (not baking soda)
- 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Optional: pinch of chili flakes or cayenne pepper
Instructions
- First, preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or foil and grease it lightly.
- Pat the chicken wings super dry with paper towels to ensure maximum crispiness.
- In a large bowl, toss the wings with baking powder, salt, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper, ensuring all pieces are coated evenly. Add the oil and toss again.
- Arrange the wings in a single layer on the prepared tray, avoiding crowding. Bake on the middle rack.
- Bake for 25 minutes, then flip each wing. Bake for another 15–20 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Let them stand a few minutes before serving, as they will be very hot.
- If desired, toss the cooked wings with more salt, a splash of hot sauce, or enjoy as they are.
Notes
- Make sure your wings are dry for the best crispiness.
