Description
A delicious breakfast treat with sausage and bread rolled up and cooked to a golden brown.
Ingredients

- 8 links breakfast sausage
- 8 slices sandwich bread
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- Butter or oil for frying
- Maple syrup for serving
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Cook or reheat sausage links until browned and cooked through. Set aside.
- Trim crusts off bread slices and flatten with a rolling pin.
- Place a sausage at the edge of a bread slice and roll tightly. Seal seam side down.
- In a shallow bowl, whisk eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla, and sugar.
- Dip each roll-up quickly into the egg mixture, coating all sides.
- Heat a skillet with butter or oil over medium heat.
- Cook roll-ups until golden brown on all sides, about 2–3 minutes per side.
- Serve warm with syrup and optional powdered sugar.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add some nuts or fruit as a side.
- These can be made ahead of time and reheated in the morning.
