This homemade sourdough naan is soft, chewy, and perfect for all your favorite dishes!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup sourdough starter discard
  • 1/4 cup whole milk Greek yogurt
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter (melted) for brushing

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda in a large bowl.
  2. Stir in sourdough starter discard, Greek yogurt, water, and olive oil until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for 2-3 minutes until well combined.
  4. Divide dough into 8 equal pieces and shape into discs. Let rest for 10 minutes.
  5. Heat a skillet or griddle over high heat.
  6. Roll each disc into a 1/4-inch thick round.
  7. Add naan to the hot skillet, cooking for 1-2 minutes per side until browned and puffed.
  8. Brush cooked naan with melted butter and cover to keep warm.

Notes

  • For best results, allow the dough to rest longer for more flavor development.
