Description
Delicious steak tacos topped with a fresh mango salsa, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 soft tortillas
- 1 1/2 lb sirloin steak
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp ground pepper
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 onion (diced)
- 1 cup mango (cubed)
- 2 small jalapeño (seeded and chopped)
- fresh cilantro
- 1 lime (wedges)
Instructions
- Cut and Season the steak: Slice steak thinly against the grain. Pat the sirloin steak dry, then season generously with salt, pepper, and cumin on both sides.
- Sauté the onion: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook for about 4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened and lightly golden.
- Cook the steak: Increase heat to medium-high. Add the seasoned steak to the skillet with the onions and sear until browned and cooked to your liking (timing depends on thickness and cut). About 8-12 minutes.
- Make the mango jalapeño salsa: In a bowl, combine diced mango, finely chopped jalapeño, diced onion, chopped cilantro, and fresh lime juice. Season lightly with salt and stir. Taste and adjust lime/heat as desired.
- Warm the tortillas: Warm tortillas in a dry skillet for 20–30 seconds per side, or wrap in foil and warm briefly in the oven.
- Assemble the tacos: Add sliced steak and sautéed onions to tortillas. Spoon over the mango salsa. Finish with extra cilantro and lime wedges if you’d like.
Notes
- Adjust the spice level by varying the amount of jalapeño used.
- For a richer flavor, marinate the steak for a few hours before cooking.
